The Cold Bed

"You are my lover and assistant"



Derek was lying in the bed he shared with his lover, except that today the bed was mostly empty.



And that made the place feel desolate and cold when he couldn't be near his partner before his dear left the bed.



And it made him feel as if the bed were cold and uncomfortable for lack of another body beside him



Although this time he didn't want to let it pass, he wanted to be close to his partner, to be able to sleep embraced like that one time.



The reason for this was because Titch was much more focused on his work and the aubergines.



Therefore, he would get out of bed earlier than Derek and return to bed much later than Derek, when he was already asleep.



And her answers to Derek's questions were always the same, things like 'I have to see the Aubergines or maybe the same thing will happen that day'.



Although this only made Derek feel like he was avoiding him, it didn't mean he didn't spend time with his partner.



The time they couldn't spend in bed was replaced by hugs and kisses during the day



And even though Titch said he didn't like physical contact, he had a certain soft spot when it was from Derek.



Although that didn't mean he responded to all her displays of affection, he mostly let them, but seemed to try to distance himself a little so he could continue.



But getting back to the present



It was probably around 2 a.m. Derek was on the verge of falling asleep, though he was trying to stay awake by watching TV at a high volume to avoid dozing off.



He was about to fall asleep when he heard someone open the bedroom door, which made him wake up with a start.



He glanced at the side and saw Titch entering the room. When the shorter one saw Derek awake, he stood alone in the doorway for a moment.



"I thought you were asleep..."Titch said, slowly approaching the bed, as if trying not to wake him even though he was already awake.

"I wanted to wait for you to go to sleep..."Derek said with a smile on his face, patting the empty space on the bed beside him twice, inviting the other man to sleep with him.



Titch obeyed and approached the bed, lying down next to his partner, although not lying down completely; rather, he sat on the bed and covered half of his body with the sheets.



Derek stared at him for a moment before sitting down on the bed as well, resting his head on Titch's shoulder.



"You should sleep..."Titch says, trying to appear nonchalant, although he noticed his partner's reaction by placing his head against Derek's.



"I wanted to talk to you..."Derek says, raising his gaze to look at his partner



Titch seemed surprised, glancing quickly at his partner once he finished speaking. He looked at him for a moment, and Derek smiled, thinking he was going to kiss him.



Although Titch only moved, causing Derek to take his head off his shoulder, and they both sat down on the bed.



"What do you want to talk to me about?" Titch said, looking at Derek, his expression seemed somewhat angry, although his voice did not show anger.



"You always come home too late to sleep... And you get up too early, I can never get enough rest with you..."Derek says, Taking the blond man hand, titch smiled slightly at the gesture, although that smile didn't last very long

"I have a job"Titch says



"I know... I'm your assistant"Derek says, playing with the other man's hand in an attempt to relax him, though he also seemed to be trying to relax himself with it.



"But I am also your lover..."Derek finishes speaking, Titch just smiles again and rolls his eyes, lowering his head slightly without wanting to look at his partner



He wasn't angry at all



"That only happened once."Titch says, looking away for a moment before looking back at his assistant



"That one time meant a lot to me..."Derek says, bringing the blond's hand to his mouth and placing a kiss on it.



Titch just looked at him with a slight smile, trying not to let on how much he liked what was happening.



Derek was about to take a breath to continue speaking, but Titch stopped him by speaking first.



"Are we going to have that conversation again?..." Titch says, giving in slightly to his partner's little fight, settling back on the bed to lie down completely



Derek did the same and placed one of his arms over the other's chest in a hug.



"If I have to repeat myself for you to take me as your lover, then I will..."Derek says, leaving a kiss on his partner's lips



"And... At least sleep a little longer with me, or wake me up when you leave..."Derek says, looking with a mixture of concern and adoration at the shorter man



Titch just sighs and thinks for a moment, although he knows he can't deny anything to his partner.



"Ok... I will"Titch says, accepting his partner's embrace and hugging the other man back.



"And?..."Derek says, "Titch just punched Derek chest without any force, turning his head gracefully.



"You are my assistant and lover..."Titch finishes speaking, Derek just seems happy about it and kisses Titch again



The blond man simply smiled and returned the kiss, settling in to sleep better with his partner, in an intoxicating and warm embrace that neither wanted to end.
